My name is Marissa Raquel Ramos, and yoga has become the best part of my life! As an adolescent and even younger, I would reluctantly imagine and envision myself in the seated, meditative yoga asana, Sukhasana… (Despite my background consisting of gymnastics and karate…) I took interest in the practice when my father told me he had participated in meditation/yoga for a whole nine months. He described to me the benefits he felt physically, mentally, emotionally, and spiritually. I became so intrigued with this artform and by the time I was graduating high school, I had purchased my first book on yoga! I was an active novice with a new found passion for home practice. I had never been in a class before but in that Summer of 2015, I moved to the east coast of Florida and decided I wanted to join a studio for more structure and guidance. I joined the Yoga Space of Melbourne lead by the absolutely wonderful Tami Jo! It was so exciting to be surrounded by other yoga people! Yoga allows me to feel grounded, content and peaceful. In 2017, I moved back to my hometown of Tampa, Fl., a year later I trained at the Yoga Loft in Ybor City to obtain my 200 HR YTT license. My experience was one I will never forget and cherish forever. I learned valuable teachings that changed my life for the better and further extended my passion to continue my journey with yoga. I am now back on the east coast where I started teaching with my former guru Miss Tami Jo! I am so happy to be a part of this magnificent practice. My intention is to be the vessel by which others can learn from, a role model of unity and gratitude. Most of all, I aim to spread love and be love. Namaste.
